Designer / Producer / Art Director and Computer Wizard LiRon Schwartz has always easily mastered leading edge arts and sciences. Born and raised in HAIFA, Israel, at the age of 12 he was deemed gifted by his teachers and sent to a school specializing in sciences and technology. At 16, LiRon fell in love with electronic music (at that time nearly taboo in Israel).

While still in high school, he became a professional DJ / Composer, with two of his “underground” albums distributed throughout Europe. Shortly after turning 17, LiRon was sent by his parents to the United States to study aviation and earn his private pilot’s license. At 18, when LiRon signed on with the Israeli Defense Force (Israel’s National Guard) to complete his military duty, it was as a Computer Officer. During his three-year tour, he was responsible for developing new web technologies for video broadcast over IP Networks for the Israeli Military.

Upon fulfillment of his military service, LiRon emigrated to the U.S. (Los Angeles) where he first utilized his technical computer skills to develop networking systems for large corporations. Finding that field limiting, a year later LiRon transitioned into Hollywood’s entertainment industry, working for M3D Studios, which specializes in multi-media children’s TV series, innovatively combining puppets, music and animation for TV with after series online, interactive play.

Beginning by writing original music for M3D’s videos, LiRon quickly moved into all aspects of multi-media production, quickly mastering 2D and 3D animation, video production and editing, art direction and motion / graphics, designing and construction of uniquely interactive play environments as well as adding studio management and professional DVD authoring to his skill set.

Over the course of his three-year tenure, LiRon’s position grew from that of being an employee to an actual partner in M3D Studios, helping create and produce such signature children’s TV series / DVDs / online games as worldwide favorites, “Tommy And The CompuToys,” “DigiMouse Online” and “Pigasso’s Place.”

In 2003, LiRon expanded his horizons to launch his very own multi-media production company, Virtual Tribal Studios (VTS). VTS specialized in creating unique marketing content including broadcast commercials for small to medium-sized companies such as Nissan SoCal, The Israeli Network and more.

In 2004, Global Horizons, an international manpower firm, commissioned VTS to direct, produce and edit a theatrical length documentary entitled, “AgriBusiness.” Airing on Discovery Channel, “AgriBusiness” followed the journey of traditionally organic Thai farmers as they were recruited to work in the U.S., introducing their methods to special needs’ American farms. Co-sponsored by the Thai Government, the documentary covered every aspect of the Thai guest worker experience: from recruitment / training to transportation from Thailand; as well as housing and work on actual farms in Hawaii and other locations in the U.S.

In 2005, VTS was recruited by Sony BMG (UK) and New Line CINEMA to create all of the motion / graphics and special effects, along with overseeing post production on a 90 minute documentary covering the life and times of rap star 50 Cent. Theatrically released in Europe, (50 CENT REFUSE 2 DIE) enjoyed a website and DVD release in the U.S. The film featured graphic novel-style effects and trend setting forms of motion capture.

The following year, LiRon decided to put VTS on hold and embark instead on a solo career as a Designer and a Motion / Graphic Artist (bringing graphics to life through the use of 2D / 3D Animation and CGI). From 2000 through 2007, LiRon worked for the Motion Graphics Display Company, providing such companies as T-Mobile with in-store digital advertising and POS Remote video / ads to various other Los Angeles-based businesses. On these projects, LiRon served as an Art Director and Producer, using all of his skills to take projects from concept through completion.

LiRon moved out onto the leading edge of fashion and style in 2008 by becoming a Designer for Ed Hardy’s 2009 Swimwear / Accessories line for men and women (which also includes surfboards, towels, cover-ups, etc.). LiRon additionally serves as Executive Producer for all Ed Hardy swimwear-related fashion shows, photo shoots and web campaigns. Additionally, LiRon began work as a designer for SMET, Crystal Rock HAT which, like Ed Hardy, is another Christian AudiGier brand this past year.

LiRon’s designs are influenced by the breadth and depth of his creative career as well as by his high flying and free wheeling, internationally-flavored lifestyle. An avid pilot and motorcyclist, LiRon collects and restores classic vintage cars, seeing them as objets d’art. An enthusiastic international traveler, LiRon has explored most of Europe, Asia, North America and the Mediterranean. At the end of this year he will add Panama to his “point and fly” collection of global experiences.

Adds LiRon, “Coming originally from a mountain village of only 40,000 people, there are times I have to get away from the mad rush and go somewhere I’ve never been before, to refresh my senses.” LiRon lives in Los Angeles with his “son” and loyal canine companion, a Guinness Golden Retriever named “Javier.” In his spare time he continues to sculpt, draw, compose music and create computer art.

And as for his multi-faceted career? “Art is art, there are no boundaries, no limits. Fashion Design, Animation, Music, Graphics, Film Production – it all comes from the same creative spark, only the end expression is different.”
